The Pentacon f/1.8 50 mm lens was mass produced from the 1960s through the 1990s. It is M42/Pentax and Praktica B mount ready and was an affordable alternative to higher-end prime lenses back in the day. It came in three variants with some cosmetic changes and the multi-coated version in the final MC or Auto version.

In the picture on the right you can see from left to right: the original rebranded Meyer Oreston, the re-designed "red mc" (multi-coated) version, and the final version with green printed scales.
